It’s common knowledge that some of the most popular Disney films and characters have their origins in the dark fairy tales of storytellers like the Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen. But as twisted as those stories can be, they’ve never included sex toys, menstrual fluid and pegging – until now.

Dizney in Drag: Once Upon a Parody is a riotous hour of raunchy, horny pantomime magic, featuring all your favourite Disney classics. The narrative is purposely cliché, centring on a stereotypical Disney hero as he heads off on his journey to find his one true love, assisted by a magnificent pink-bearded Hairy Godmother. It’s here he encounters the likes of a coked-up Snow White, sex-curious Ariel and Gaston in a strap on, all played expertly by drag kings and queens with striking and colourful costumes.

From the goofy opening rendition of ‘Be Our Guest’ to Ariel’s kink-tastic ‘Part Of Your World’, each song and performance is delivered by The Hairy Godmothers with cheek-filled undertones in a very sex-positive manner that encourages the audiences to get on board. Dizney in Drag is a silly, raunchy show but in its takedown of toxic masculinity and discussions around consent, it also touches on some valuable life lessons.
