11am

“I always start the day with a cup of peppermint tea and a banana – how pathetic is that?! We only get one day off during the run so I'm going to imagine how I would spend that day. But you know it's strange when that day comes about because you actually think 'Oh. What am I going to do today; I've got no real focus, I've got nothing I have to do.' Which ought to be blissful and joyous but actually you think 'help, what am I going to do.' It's a bit discombobulating.

“I guess I'll do the laundry, phone home, and make sure the rest of our lives are still continuing. Neil and I have to keep reminding ourselves that life exists outside of Edinburgh.”

1pm – Saving Tania's Privates

“I would go and see Tania Katan's show – she's this American lady who was a guest on our show. She's amazing, really sparky and fun."

2pm – Simon Callow – A Festival Dickens

“I'd like to catch Simon Callow doing the Dickens. We haven't been able to watch his show yet as it clashes with ours, so I'd definitely save him for our day off."

3pm – Lunch at Caffe Sardi

“Our favourite eating hole is Sardi's on Forrest Road, it's round the corner from our venue. It's a good value Italian restaurant. It's delicious, it's not pretentious, and it has cheerful staff. That's where we eat more than anywhere else in Edinburgh, so we'd definitely go there. We'd probably get swept off for lunch with friends who are up at the festival, have some bubbly at the restaurant, and rock out of there at about five.

“It's social social social up here, so after that we'd probably fall in to the nearest bar and go downhill from there.”

5.50pm – Caesar Twins

“They're just amazing. If you thought you were fit, and you could do anything at all remotely energetic, you won't think that when you've seen them. They're truly amazing. I'd definitely try to go and see their show again.”

7pm – Sneaky burger

“I'll tell you what I do love, I do love the Well Hung and Tender. It's pretty darn good, I've certainly had the odd burger, and I'd probably treat myself to one on my day off.”

8pm - Evening shows

“What I love about Edinburgh is that we just wander around in the evening, and look up at the board and think 'let's try that, let's go in.' And sometimes you go in and have the most bellyaching hour. You could be roaring with laughter, it might be absolutely dreadful, but it's fun. And you just come away and think 'that was great.' So we'd probably give something new a try.”
