Quick Duck’s Confetti, energetically performed by Will Jackson, is a controlled avalanche. The 65-minute heart to heart covers countless bizarre scenarios Felix finds himself in when honored with the ‘mate of honor’ role for Helen’s ‘sten’ do (combined stag & hen evening). From inconvenient romance to last minute wedding disaster, Felix is determined to put the cherry on the cake to complete the dream wedding Helen has dreamed about since they were in school.

Jackson’s frenetic energy inviting the audience into the space and setting the mood is perfectly placed. Jackson brilliantly seats the audience, encouraging full commitment to the stag/hen ‘sten’ do with party hats and poppers… the confetti kind. Jackson oozes confidence as they sit amongst the settling audience, reminding them of their relation or recent interactions with the bride-to-be.

The emotional journey differentiates Jackson’s solo effort from a lot of other solo dramas. The initial burst of energy gradually dissolves revealing a down to earth character full of relatable human appeal. Jackson finds a superb pace with effective beats to guide the audience smoothly through the cascade of catastrophe. Confetti playfully invites joyful immersion into Jackson’s sweeping charm.
