Ascending Light

Peter Davis works from the almost deserted location of Silwick in West Mainland of Shetland, where he is surrounded by unobstructed seaviews and dramatic cliffs. A master of transparent layers of watercolours, he brings a symphony of soft hues, celebrating the ever changing and temperamental Shetland weather. Catherine Carr knits and crochets glass vessels from her studio in the Scottish Highlands. Inspired by the role of women in textiles, she pushes the technical boundaries of glass and creates iconic knit patterns in glass. She is currently inspired by the patterns of Shetland Lacework Shawls.
